Flat Tires

It may seem odd that there is a picture of Jed and a rainbow under the title of flat tires, so let me explain.  On this particular day we went up in the hills to check water for the cows, while up there we got a flat tire, so we changed it and went on our way.  We spent the rest of the day going to the other ranches, that the owner has leased out, to see their gasoline storage capacity.  These ranches are all on dirt roads, 160 miles of it actually.  We were about 30 miles from home when we got another flat tire, and no, we didn’t have a spare.  It could have been a really long night if not for the ford behind us that loaned us their spare until we got home.  We were on lonely dirt roads, and the Lord was watching over us.  We got 2 new tires and three days later the transmission went out, but that is a whole other story for another day.  Thankfully it is not our own personal truck :).

Working Cows

Here we are at the corrals, the top pictures are Todd and Luke entertaining themselves.  One picture is of Joe Peila loading the Bid box and the other is Jed being so good in his stroller while I helped.  Below is  a picture of me(Kayla), Justin, Todd, Luke, Jed, Rueben Briggs, and Joe Peila.  This was after we got done working 815 cows.  We had a good 3 days, and we love working with such good guys, and the kids were awesome they were so good.

Favorite Toys

I thought is would be fun to show Todd and Luke with some of their favorite toys.  Luke loves anything to do with horses or cows, (and he prays for them every time a he says a prayer).  He especially loves his truck, horse trailer, corrals and horses.  Todd loves trains and likes to dress up as a conductor.  He has 6 or 7 trains and always wants more.  I helped him build this track (while Jed is asleep cause he tears it apart, they call him the bear).  When ever we go somewhere and they get to take some toys, Todd takes a train and trailers, and Luke takes his truck, trailer, and horses. 

Halloween Treats

 

 

We made some Halloween rice crispy treats.  I didn’t have quite enough rice crispys, so they were extra sticky, but they were good anyway.  Todd didn’t like forming them because they got his hands sticky.  Who would have thought a kid that doesn't like sticky hands :).

Party Night Bonfire

We call Friday night party night.  We stay up late, eat popcorn and orange julius and watch a movie (this is what we usually do).  But occasionally we do other fun things like build a fire and roast weenies.  I had a fun night tonight.  The boys love roasting marshmallows, and i have to admit so do I.  It was a great party ;).  On our way home Luke kept trying to fall asleep, so we sang and danced in our seats.  What fun.

Fred

This last weekend we borrowed a pony for Todd and Luke to ride the rest of the year, his name is Fred. The boys love him and he is so good with them. Pictures to come soon.
